Holiday Weekend Mish Mosh.....

The babes of the castle continue to grow and we find ourselves capturing moments that not only make us laugh until we cry (children are absolutely hilarious), but also moments that melt our hearts. For those parents that read this blog--you remember those moments. Here are some activities from our weekend that insured that our Memorial Day 2009 was truly memorable.

"Cool Mo Alec"
Tony's best friend Chuck takes Abby on the carousel on the Boston Common Frog Pond. He's got the 'kid gene' for sure!

Alec and Aramis enjoying a ride in the Triple Jogger as we peruse Boston's streets and parks...

Tony teaches Abby and the twins how to feed the ducks (but avoid the swans and geese who frankly, are downright mean and nasty!)

Looks like Abby's got it!!!

Some of the funniest footage included Abby trying to put on a diaper (although she's potty trained and no longer wears them....figures....) and the Kingdom's three munchkins taking their turn on the antique piano that Grandpa Bulawa purchased after earning winnings at Baccarat. (nice back story, hunh?)

An Offer You Can't Refuse....

Given how challenging it is to surprise King Tony, Queen Wendy and her children found a deliciously covert way to plan and execute an amazing surprise party for Tony to celebrate his 39th year, his accomplishment of becoming a partner, and of course, father of three gorgeous munchkins! With careful arrangement of flights, schedules, etc., we successfully pulled off "An Offer You Can't Refuse" (Godfather themed-party) in Boston during Memorial Day Weekend. A great time was had by all--especially King Tony--who was so surprised, he was left speechless (a very hard thing to manage!).

The 'Wine Room' in which the event was held.

"Swim with the fishes" favors...complete with mafia-style photo of Tony and filled to the brim with Swedish fish. :)

Guests begin to arrive and await Tony's entrance...

SURPRISE!!

The party begins...with drinks all around!

Here's King Tony with some of the fancy gift items (including bifocals...for his aging eyes) received along with hilarious roasts from his closest friends, family and colleagues! HAHAHAHA!
Blowing out sparklers....! What a way to top off the celebration!

Spooning....

2:15 a.m. this morning--the baby monitor shrills with the sound of Alec's cries. Wendy wakes up, tends to him (as he's leaked through his diaper and needs a change). She brings him to bed with her and Tony so he'll settle back to sleep--as can his parents.

4:13 a.m. this morning-Abby opens our bedroom door, walks over to Wendy's side of the bed and asks if she can sleep with us. Wendy complies and we again, all try to return to sleep.

The result? Our beautiful daughter and one of our sons (since Aramis is a GOOD boy and stays in his bed all night and sleeps like all kids SHOULD), 'spoon' inbetween Wendy and Tony and somehow--for the first time maybe ever--sleep in past 6:00 a.m. Is this a sign that they hate their own beds? Maybe they are cold at night? That they just love their mommy and daddy so much? We'll see if this situation recreates itself since at this juncture, mommy and daddy may be kicked out of their bed permanently? Sleep deprivation doesn't seem to be enough of a punishment. Now these little critters want to oust us from our royal lair!! :(

Happy Belated Earth Day...

A long overdue trip to NY was taken a few weeks ago, and we were able to catch up with Uncle Erick, Auntie Beth and cousins Maryann, Lilly, Adia and Jenny Kate. Our New York family is just too amazing for words!!
A few posts ago, we highlighted the success of our niece Adia, who became a finalist in the 'Name the Mars Rover' contest--and followed that on with a number of major media hits--never once showing signs of fear, discomfort or lack of true skill. :) What's more, she's just a kid!! :)
While in New York, the girls produced another unbelievable invention they built in preparation for an Earth Day celebration--their very own SOLAR GRILL!!
The photos prove that it not only works, but produces some of the yummiest hot dogs ever. (We're just waiting to find out if they can cook a rotisserie chicken and some veggies without using anything but sunshine and a reflective mirror). UNBELIEVABLE! :)

TGIF!

Our lovely weekend has started on a positive note as the sun is shining! The Kindom's royalty spent the morning enjoying their special 'waffle' breakfast (prepared each week as a treat), and we're headed out for a day of outside fun, hiking, strolling and who knows, maybe even some ice cream. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms who read this blog!
