2:15 a.m. this morning--the baby monitor shrills with the sound of Alec's cries. Wendy wakes up, tends to him (as he's leaked through his diaper and needs a change). She brings him to bed with her and Tony so he'll settle back to sleep--as can his parents.4:13 a.m. this morning-Abby opens our bedroom door, walks over to Wendy's side of the bed and asks if she can sleep with us. Wendy complies and we again, all try to return to sleep.
The result? Our beautiful daughter and one of our sons (since Aramis is a GOOD boy and stays in his bed all night and sleeps like all kids SHOULD), 'spoon' inbetween Wendy and Tony and somehow--for the first time maybe ever--sleep in past 6:00 a.m. Is this a sign that they hate their own beds? Maybe they are cold at night? That they just love their mommy and daddy so much? We'll see if this situation recreates itself since at this juncture, mommy and daddy may be kicked out of their bed permanently? Sleep deprivation doesn't seem to be enough of a punishment. Now these little critters want to oust us from our royal lair!! :(
